Seven Clean Seas UK Event
Last month, the Bloom team had the pleasure of attending the UK launch of Seven Clean Seas.
The Bloom team is currently getting insights into green and social initiatives happening in the UK, as we have recently committed to give a percentage of our profits to a chosen charity. Giving back to society is a core value at Bloom, and we are thrilled to be in the position to support local initiatives. This would not have been possible without the trust of our customers, so we want to thank our network and partners for allowing us to make our contribution.
As part of our discovery journey, we would like to take the opportunity to share some of those initiatives with our network. This is the first article of this series.
Who are Seven Clean Seas?
Last month, the Bloom team had the pleasure of attending the UK launch of Seven Clean Seas.
Seven Clean Seas are making waves in the fight against ocean plastic pollution and are on a mission to remove 100 million kilograms of plastic from our oceans by 2030. The UK launch event celebrated Seven Clean Seas' milestone of collecting 5,000 kg of plastic waste.
What we learned at the event?
At the launch, we heard inspiring stories from the Seven Clean Seas team about their journey, which began with collecting plastic waste in Indonesia and is now expanding into Thailand.
Seven Clean Seas works with local ocean communities, empowering them with meaningful employment while creating lasting social and environmental impact. The communities they work with benefit from sustainable livelihoods, improved education, and better health. Plastic recovery really can go together with human impact!
Seven Clean Seas are also strong advocates of circular design principles demonstrated by how they transform collected plastic waste into practical products such as coasters, roof tiles, and construction bricks. One example that really stood out to me was the replacement of old warehouse roofs, where they collected the plastic waste which contained asbestos. They replaced them with the very roof tiles made from the recycled plastic they collected. This closed-loop, circular economy solution is a powerful example of sustainability in action. It shows how plastic waste can be collected, recycled, and repurposed, all while providing social and economic benefits to local communities.
Getting involved with Seven Clean Seas
Seven Clean Seas offer a certified Plastic Credit Program as well as other philanthropic and CSR initiatives designed to help businesses make measurable contributions to sustainability. Initiatives such as these can provide an opportunity for UK beauty businesses to show environmental responsibility as well as connect with conscious consumers.
Our vision
At Bloom Regulatory, we’re passionate about helping beauty brands go beyond compliance and adopt sustainability as a core business value. Our own business vision is:

We wish Seven Clean Seas all the best with their UK launch and hope that they gain support to continue their work with local ocean communities. Thank you Seven Clean Seas for sharing your journey so far with us!
