Our clients

Trusted by companies, trade associations and authorities world wide

We recognise every client is different. That’s why we offer bespoke services to suit your needs.

Here you can read about some of the clients that we have helped and how we support them.

Since our creation, we have proudly supported over 100 cosmetic and food supplement companies from large multi-national businesses to small start-ups, located worldwide.

The challenge

This client is a very experienced business in developing and marketing pharmaceutical products but did not have internal expertise relating to the compliance for new cosmetics they were launching.

What did we do?

Whilst the brand owner would be acting as Responsible Person, they needed an external team who could carry out all compliance steps to bring the products to market in the UK, EU and USA. We worked alongside their internal and external partners to ensure the development of a compliant formula and label, with substantiated and compliant claims, finishing the process with the compilation of the Product Information File and notification of the products.

NEW BRAND

Supporting the first launch

About the client

This client is a small business with a portfolio of newly launched cosmetic products.

What did we do?

Our work with this client involved ensuring that they have the necessary knowledge and tools in order to ensure compliance of their products as they go to launch, continue to market the products and what to do when discontinuing some of the range. We provided training on key regulatory topics such as Responsible Person obligations and cosmetovigilance, accompanying these with SOPs (standard operating procedures) to which they could refer on an ongoing basis – also knowing when to get in touch for additional help and support in the future.

START UP

Bespoke training on key regulatory topics

“I have known Bloom since 2020 and have worked with them in my previous organisation and, when I transitioned to working for a new start up brand with a very small team, I knew I could count on them for support on several different projects, from claim and copy checks to translations and trainings, and have always had wonderful experiences…I will continue working with them to support the brand for any compliance matters.”

The challenge

The company needed regulatory support to boost capacity for an interim period while a vacancy was being filled.

What did we do?

Bloom’s senior management were on hand to guide and steer the internal regulatory team on strategic decisions with the full Bloom team available to provide a checking and sign-off service for everyday aspects such as labels, formulas, ingredient lists and distributor requests.

BRAND (FAST PACE)

Boosting capacity

The challenge

Prior to Brexit, this client had been a distributor of products originating from the EU. Following Brexit, the company automatically became an importer and with this came new legal responsibilities for which they needed support.

What did we do?

We performed a compliance audit for the products that the company would be taking legal responsibility for within Great Britain and continue to monitor for ongoing compliance, checking for changes in legislation that could impact their ability to continue to market the existing formulas (cosmetics and food supplements).

DISTRIBUTOR/IMPORTER

Ensuring compliance of imported goods

About the client

Brand agencies and facilitators who are also partnering with other service providers may not need a full compliance package. This particular client is based in the US but works with brands launching in the US, Canada, UK and EU. They have an existing network of manufacturers, safety assessors and testing houses.

What did we do?

We support this client and their brands through a tailored approach, selecting only the aspects of compliance that they need from us. For many this will still incorporate formula checking and labelling but our support may focus more on claim substantiation and study design as well as advising on a strategic approach to future global compliance.

BRAND AGENCY

Tailored compliance support

The challenge

This client was working with an advertising agency to clear an advert for airing on UK TV broadcast services. Unfortunately, the initial dossier of support had been rejected by Clearcast.

What did we do?

After reviewing the full package of data that had been submitted and the comments and feedback received from Clearcast, we compiled a new dossier and reformatted script of claims, focussing on the robust data available and the key messaging that the client wished to include in the Ad.

ADVERTISER

Building robust dossiers

The challenge

Trade associations need to offer a broad range of expertise to their membership whilst operating on lean resources.

What did we do?

We have offered both short and long term help to trade associations in the beauty and wellness space, building capacity by handling special projects on their behalf or boosting expertise in areas where member queries are rare and not catered for within the normal staff resources.

TRADE ASSOCIATION

Providing support

“Bloom boasts extensive experience with regulatory bodies and meticulously validated our certification method. We're pleased to have the backing of a reputable consultancy like Bloom for our certification. The team assisted us with all inquiries, making the collaboration with them a highly enjoyable experience.”

SUPPLIERS/SERVICES

Supporting the launch of new ingredients and services to the industry

The challenge

The client approached us with a novel claim substantiation method they wished to market specifically towards the cosmetics industry and wanted to gain an independent viewpoint on its acceptability by the industry, authorities and advertising bodies.

What did we do?

Bloom audited the test method and resulting proposed claim terminology according to our experience of the expectations and requirements of the ASA, Clearcast and enforcement authorities.

About the client

This client was purchasing a major UK business with a portfolio of a number of prominent brands.

What did we do?

Operating in a fast-paced environment, we carried out a timely audit of a selected a number of products and processes within the business in order to identify any potential risks to the new investors.

PRIVATE EQUITY

Reviewing overall regulatory fitness

The challenge

The client has multiple expert teams working on a large portfolio of consumer goods but wanted an overarching perspective of the EU Green Deal policy initiatives and how these would impact the business in the future.

What did we do?

We produced an extensive report and analysis of the EU Green Deal and the relevant policy areas impacting their brand portfolio, including the review of the Cosmetics Regulation, REACH, CLP, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive and Eco-design frameworks.

GLOBAL COMPANY

Providing expert insight

About the client

This client has expertise in UK and EU cosmetic regulations but finds it challenging to work with North America legislation.

What did we do?

We support this client through performing formula checks for the US and Canada markets as well as compiling ingredient listings compliant in UK/EU/Canada/USA.
