We’re Hiring
Regulatory Affairs Senior Advisor
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Regulatory Affairs Advisor to join our regulatory consultancy team.
This is a senior technical role for someone who can work independently across a varied portfolio of regulatory projects, provide clear and commercially aware advice to clients, and support less experienced colleagues with technical questions and project delivery.
The role will suit someone who enjoys regulatory problem solving, can apply technical knowledge in context, and is confident advising clients beyond straightforward compliance checks. To fulfil the requirements of the role, you are likely to have gained this level of judgement through at least five years of experience in a relevant regulatory role within the cosmetic industry.
You will help us deliver high-quality regulatory consultancy across cosmetics, food supplements and general products, while contributing to the continued development of our services, knowledge base and ways of working.
Location and eligibility
This is a 100% remote working role. Candidates must be UK based and eligible to work in the UK.
Please note that this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Manage and complete customer compliance projects, including the review of labels, formulations and technical documentation.
Provide regulatory advice and interpretation across cosmetics, food supplements and general product categories.
Advise clients on complex regulatory questions, including product claims, borderline issues and technical compliance challenges.
Prepare, contribute to and review customer reports on a variety of regulatory topics.
Manage your own customer accounts and maintain clear, professional client communication.
Participate in, and where appropriate lead, internal and external client meetings.
Support less experienced team members by answering technical questions, reviewing outputs and helping them develop their regulatory judgement.
Research background information for presentations, benchmarking exercises and technical reports.
Monitor and communicate relevant regulatory and enforcement intelligence.
Update internal systems and knowledge resources with regulatory changes.
Prepare technical articles and contribute to company promotion and service development.
Help develop internal operating procedures and support continuous improvement.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with strong regulatory experience and the ability to apply knowledge practically and commercially.
You should have experience in the following areas:
EU and UK cosmetics compliance, including Responsible Person requirements, formulation compliance, labelling, Product Information Files, claim substantiation and cosmetovigilance.
Cosmetic claims, borderline claims and risk-based regulatory interpretation.
Ingredient restriction sources, including REACH and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
Food supplement compliance, including formulations, labels and claims.
Experience in the following areas is desirable:
International cosmetic compliance, for example USA, Australia, Middle East, India, China, Japan, Korea, ASEAN or Canada.
CLP, REACH or packaging-related requirements, including PPWR or environmental legislation.
You do not need to be an expert in every area, but you should be able to demonstrate strong regulatory judgement, a willingness to research unfamiliar topics and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
Skills and attributes
The successful candidate will be able to:
Work independently on complex regulatory projects.
Exercise sound judgement and know when to escalate higher risk issues.
Think beyond the immediate question to identify what the client really needs to understand.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues.
Balance technical accuracy with commercial awareness.
Manage deadlines and competing priorities effectively.
Produce clear, well-structured written advice and reports.
Contribute positively to a collaborative, values led consultancy environment.
